Article: Prayer of Remnants
Prayer of Remnants
The history of the Bible has always been fulfilled through the "Remnants."
"Prayer of Remnants" gathers the absolute power of prayer from those called to be the “One New Man” in order to fulfill the Word of God and prepare for the completion of the New Jerusalem.
Purpose of This Blog
Why does God choose the Remnants? Throughout every generation, God has accomplished His work through those He has chosen—the “Remnants.”
In the Bible, the Remnants are described as the “stump,” the “holy seed,” and the “heirs of the covenant.” They possess the following characteristics:
1. Definition and Characteristics of the Remnants
A Faithful Minority: They appear as a small number in every generation. God-fearing People: They revere the LORD, walk with Him, and obey His commandments and the gospel. Martyr-like Spirituality: They uphold holiness, refusing to compromise even amid suffering and persecution.
In the end times, God connects these Remnants and raises them up as His Army of Light. They engage in spiritual warfare against the forces of darkness and are entrusted with the mission to advance and complete the Kingdom of God.
2. Biblical Examples of Remnants
In the Old Testament:
- Noah: "But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD... Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God." (Genesis 6:8–9 KJV)
- "The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us... by the resurrection of Jesus Christ." (1 Peter 3:21 KJV)
- Abraham: "For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD." (Genesis 18:19 KJV)
- Through Abraham, the promises of nation, land, and spiritual blessing began, establishing the sovereignty and lineage of God’s Kingdom.
- Exodus Generation: God led the Israelites through Moses, Joshua, and Caleb during the wilderness journey.
- Prophetic Era: "Yet I have left me seven thousand in Israel, all the knees which have not bowed unto Baal." (1 Kings 19:18 KJV)
- "Except the LORD of hosts had left unto us a very small remnant, we should have been as Sodom." (Isaiah 1:9 KJV)
- During the Babylonian exile, God used Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach, Abednego, Esther, Mordecai, and those who returned with Ezra and Nehemiah.
In the New Testament:
- At Jesus' Birth: Simeon, Anna, and others were waiting faithfully for the Messiah. "And she coming in that instant gave thanks likewise unto the Lord, and spake of him to all them that looked for redemption in Jerusalem." (Luke 2:38 KJV)
- Apostolic Era: "Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace." (Romans 11:5 KJV)
3. Why God Works Through Remnants
God always reveals His will through a small group of faithful people—those who are like stumps left in the land.
- "Run ye to and fro through the streets of Jerusalem... if ye can find a man, if there be any that executeth judgment, that seeketh the truth; and I will pardon it." (Jeremiah 5:1 KJV)
- Even one intercessor like Abraham could have spared Sodom: "Peradventure ten shall be found there. And he said, I will not destroy it for ten's sake." (Genesis 18:32 KJV)
- "And it came to pass, when God destroyed the cities of the plain, that God remembered Abraham, and sent Lot out." (Genesis 19:29 KJV)
- God, even in judgment, shows mercy. He protects the world through a small number of righteous people who cling firmly to His covenant.
- "He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?" (Micah 6:8 KJV)
- "But yet in it shall be a tenth, and it shall return... so the holy seed shall be the substance thereof." (Isaiah 6:13 KJV)
4. The Remnants in the Last Days
In these end times, the Remnants—empowered by the Holy Spirit—are called to fulfill the following missions:
Intercession: They pray according to God’s will, standing in the gap for the fulfillment of His Word.
Evangelism of the One New Man: They proclaim the gospel of reconciliation—uniting Jews and Gentiles in Christ.
Upholding Holiness: As God’s spiritual army, united with the resurrection of Christ, they remain faithful amid the world’s darkness.
5. Application for Today
- Even though we are few in number, we live in complete obedience to the will of God.
- As ambassadors of God’s Kingdom, we continually intercede through prayer that His Kingdom may come on earth as it is in heaven.
- As a community called to proclaim the gospel of unity between Jew and Gentile, we boldly declare the message of reconciliation in Christ.
The Hidden Mystery of Christ
"Having abolished in his flesh the enmity... for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace... In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord." (Ephesians 2:15–21 KJV)
"For the LORD hath chosen Zion; he hath desired it for his habitation. This is my rest for ever: here will I dwell; for I have desired it." (Psalm 132:13–14 KJV)
